The Danish organization "Givblod" and PlayStation Denmark had undergone a colaboration to incentivize Danish men to donate blood, by giving them a free videogame (including the newly, and highly anticipated Bloodborne, exclusively for the PlayStation 4). Also all participants yesterday entered a raffle to win a unique Bloodborne styled Playstation 4. To spread the message of the campaign, they also expanded the raffle for a PlayStation 4 to those attendees, who captured the day and shared it on Instagram with the hashtag #GivblodforBloodborne. The event took place yesterday in Copenhagen for both new and current blood donors. The campaign resulted in 100 portions of blood and 500 new donors and exceeded Givblod's expectations - they even had to shut the doors to finish at 17:00.
This event is not the first initiative of it's kind, which blends gaming and the act of giving blood. Last year a couple of Canadian guys calling themselves "Brand and Grotesque" started a Kickstarter campaign called "Bloodsport". Simply put, this campaign would see players getting hit in a game, and the controller rumbles, the blood collection system reacts and taps blood. You can read more about the project here or watch the video below. The project has by this time been suspended from Kickstarter, so only time will tell if this projects catches fire.
